Sr Project Manager, IT

Hiring near our Irving, TX Center of Excellence with a flexible environment.

Gartner is looking for a Sr Project Manager who will direct a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile/Scrum environment to develop and implement significant improvements to Gartner systems and business processes in support of the company's/division's profit, growth, and customer satisfaction goals. Experience managing complex web applications from a functional program management standpoint is required.

• Ensure Agile/Scrum process is implemented effectively and provide coaching at the team level to maximize its benefits.
• Exhibit desire to continuously learn new tools, techniques, and methodologies.
• Run projects using Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.
• Interact seamlessly with both business and project teams.
• Facilitate discussions that lead to the resolution of project issues and development impediments.
• Report project progress to management and executive-level stakeholders.
• Communicate the release plan with key stakeholders and end users.
• Proactively help the product owner manage the backlog.
• Show a track record of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with IT associates and business partners to resolve operational issues.
• Develop processes to manage operational issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Identify systemic operational issues, resolve them, and present root cause and process improvements.

• 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Strong experience with the full software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to influence the scope and direction of initiatives across multiple management levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
• Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training.
• Experience working with a distributed team.
• Strong knowledge of product development; SFDC knowledge a plus.
• Ability to establish credibility quickly with Business Units and IT partners.
• Drive projects to successful completion within budget and on time.
• Facilitate coordination of team activities based on systems scope and project objectives.
• Understand strategic business direction to ensure new features align with business needs.
• Ability to manage expectations of clients, team members, management, and external groups.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Jira or similar project tracking software.
