Senior Systems Analyst (Cloud & Dev Ops) is a hands‑on individual contributor responsible for designing, building, operating, and continuously improving AAAS’s cloud infrastructure and deployment automation platforms. This role focuses on AWS‑based systems, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation to support reliable, secure, and repeatable delivery of applications and services.

What You’ll Do Cloud Infrastructure & Operations- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS‑based infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
- Administer and optimize core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, and related services.
- Implement security best practices for cloud environments in partnership with IT Security.
- Monitor system health, performance, availability, and costs; proactively address reliability risks.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response for systems owned by the role.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Git Lab CI or Azure Dev Ops.
- Partner with development teams to standardize build, deployment, and release workflows.
- Improve deployment safety through automation, testing, validation, and rollback mechanisms.
- Integrate security scanning, secrets management, and compliance controls into pipelines.
- Document architectures, pipelines, operational procedures, and automation clearly and accurately.
- Produce and maintain "as-built" and "as-operated" documentation to support IT Operations.
- Serve as a technical partner to Application Development, Web Development, and IT Operations teams.
- Provide tiered operational support and troubleshooting for cloud and deployment platforms.
- Participate in infrastructure and platform initiatives aligned with AAAS technology strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, cloud engineering, or Dev Ops roles.
- Hands‑on experience operating production workloads in AWS or Azure environments.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops, or equivalent).
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools and automation practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently with defined objectives and broad technical latitude.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across teams without formal authority.
- Discipline in documentation, change management, and following established standards.

BenefitsThe anticipated initial rate of compensation for this position is between $110,000 and $146,000 per year. AAAS provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance. Additional benefits may apply.
