We are seeking an experienced Courtroom Presentation Specialist to support ITC Federal’s work for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under the anticipated MEGA 6 automated litigation support (ALS) program. This is a fully remote position supporting DOJ’s complex litigation mission.
Important:
This opening is being established in connection with the MEGA 6 contract vehicle award itself. ITC Federal must still be awarded individual task orders under the vehicle before employees can be onboarded. Accordingly, this position is full-time and contingent upon both contract award and the award of the applicable task order.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Works with the trial team, including expert witnesses, to develop plans for trial or hearings using a courtroom presentation system.
PROGRAM CONTEXT:
This position supports the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under the anticipated MEGA 6 procurement. MEGA 6 is expected to continue DOJ’s multiple-award contract vehicle for automated litigation support (ALS) services, following the structure of the MEGA 5 contract. These contracts are designed to provide DOJ offices, boards, divisions, and other federal agencies with information technology, professional services, and litigation support tools to manage complex legal proceedings efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares exhibit images for particular uses (e.g. zooming in on or highlighting a particular paragraph, or setting up two exhibits side by side on the screen).
- Develops simple graphic images/exhibits using standard off-the-shelf software packages.
- Advises attorneys on the effectiveness of certain exhibits or sequences of exhibits.
- Is responsible for the smooth operation of the presentation system in the courtroom.
- Digitizes audio and video clips.
- Synchronizes clips with written transcripts.
- Note that, for most trials, even including most large trials, we expect that the Courtroom Presentation Specialist will be the only contractor staff member needed to work with the attorneys in preparing for trial and in presenting materials in the courtroom.
- That is, the services of the Trial Consultant and the Graphics Specialist will be required only very rarely.
- The Courtroom Presentation Specialist needs to be a "jack-of-all-trades" capable of performing all trial and courtroom support functions, including equipment set up and troubleshooting, scripting, advising on graphics presentations, and courtroom operation of equipment.
REQUIRED:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance prior to start (candidates are not required to be cleared at the time of application).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Must be familiar with standard courtroom presentation packages such as Trial Director and Sanction.
- Must have excellent oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work effectively as a team member in an extremely pressured environment.
