Information Technology Generalist 1
The Information Technology Generalist 1 position with the Technology Services Office (TSO), Health and Human Services Delivery Center gives you the chance to help strengthen secure access for important services across the Commonwealth. This role encourages clear thinking, careful analysis, and steady teamwork. You will support a mission that helps people every day by keeping vital systems safe and available, while growing your technical skills in meaningful public service.
Responsibility- Access Management:
Review and process account requests to maintain secure and accurate system access. - Technical Support:
Assist users and troubleshoot access issues across multiple platforms and applications. - Security Compliance:
Monitor systems and document activity to ensure alignment with security standards. - System Coordination:
Work with internal and external groups to resolve problems and improve processes. - Process Improvement:
Identify ways to strengthen access procedures and support better service for users.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part‑time, up to 3 days per week. Telework requires a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. - Salary:
The starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title), or
- Three years of information technology experience in applications development or maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or design, or other IT support/administration services; or
- One year of IT experience in the areas listed above and an associate’s degree in any IT field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
