Manager Solution Architecture of DoW Accounts

Overview

Lumen is a network provider connecting people, data, and applications through fiber and a connected ecosystem, enabling secure high‑performance connectivity for enterprises, governments, and communities.

This position is in the Public Sector Technology Solutions Support team, where you will help shape AI‑ready connectivity for DoW customers. You will bring over 10 years of DoW experience and team‑management expertise, and you will need to meet eligibility for classified access.

Hybrid – work from home one to two days a week, otherwise in a local office, within the United States.

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of solution architects and engineers, ensuring they meet organizational goals.
• Oversee the design, development and implementation of technology solutions (including networking) that meet DoW clients’ strategic and operational needs, ensuring scalability, security, and best‑practice alignment.
• Apply technical skills in Dark Fiber, Layers 1‑4, IP VPN, DIA, Ethernet; international experience, Cyber, Zero Trust adds value.
• Leverage expertise in the EIS contract and other DoW contracts to guide solution development and maintain compliance.
• Engage with DoW clients to understand requirements, articulate value, and build long‑term relationships.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute a strategic vision for the DoW solution architecture practice.
• Provide technical oversight, approving designs to ensure architectural integrity consistent with enterprise standards.
• Champion continuous improvement by adopting best practices, process enhancements and innovative solutions.

• Eligibility for classified‑information access (government security investigation; Top Secret preferred).
• Proven track record delivering complex technology solutions in the DoW space.
• Experience managing teams.
• Deep knowledge of the EIS contract and other relevant DoW contracts.
• Strong foundation in enterprise architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent military/private‑sector experience.
• Excellent presentation, speaking, and writing skills to communicate complex concepts to senior DoW officials.
• Proven interpersonal skills to build trust with clients and cross‑functional teams.
• Organizational agility in both direct and matrixed operating structures.
• Occasional travel.

Base salary ranges vary by state. Minimums and maximums may differ based on location and experience.

Location Based Pay Ranges

• $130,738 – $174,306 in AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, , IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY.
• $137,271 – $183,024 in CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI.
• $143,814 – $191,742 in AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA.
