Overview
Support Desk Technician with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT and 2-5 years of experience is needed for a fully onsite, direct hire position in the Southern Charlotte, NC area. This is a level 1-2 support desk position, troubleshooting a variety of desktop support issues. The candidate must have strong technical and communication skills. Day-to-day duties include remote and on-site technical support for customers.
Candidate must have an entrepreneurial attitude and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Provide level 1-2 desktop and on-site technical support to customers
- Perform remote troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Respond to support requests in a timely and professional manner
- Diagnose hardware and operating system issues
- Assist with network concepts, hardware, and connectivity problems
- Support mobile devices, antivirus, backup/recovery software, and application support
- Administer Active Directory in a distributed environment
- Manage and troubleshoot Windows Server in MSP/MSSP context
- Participate in on-call rotations and overtime as required
- Maintain documentation and customer communications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with customers professionally
- Proficiency with TCP/IP networking, switches/routers/firewalls, wireless networks
- Familiarity with network cabling
- Remote-access and site-to-site VPN
- MSP/MSSP experience
- Windows system administration (desktop and server) and Active Directory
- Anti-virus administration and malware remediation
- Backup and recovery software
- Application support and administration
- Plus:
Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Cisco IOS/ASA, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V - A+, Net+ certifications;
Practical Office 365 Admin Experience or MS-900 certification
- Eligible to work directly for any U.S. employer without sponsorship
- Must be willing to work overtime and be on call (OT minimal; on-call approximately 2 weeks/year)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Fully onsite role, but must be able to work from home if needed
