PositionField Applications Engineer
Responsibilities- Utilize advanced understanding of customer needs and technical leadership to champion return on engineering investment.
- Act as technical lead on large, complex customer engagements involving broad system solutions and drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs.
- Partner with the sales team across pre‑and post‑sales activities, providing advanced technical support and consulting to promote demand creation.
- Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives and promotions by obtaining buy‑in and support from sales.
- Provide technical leadership to the branch, customers and suppliers, shaping strategy and guiding technical direction and priorities.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of supplier technologies and how those technologies relate to market needs, including vertical segmentation.
- Position Arrow’s differential value proposition and supplier technologies, as well as competitor technologies.
- Maintain a complete knowledge of products and the entire scope of assigned lines; possess sound product knowledge of Arrow’s line card.
- Attend supplier trainings.
- Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships with senior‑level decision makers, keeping stakeholders up‑to‑date on activities, plans and progress toward initiatives.
- Deepen and broaden connections with key decision makers within suppliers and customers.
- Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and Q .
- Use ROI concepts for making strategic business plans and decisions.
- Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions.
- Support design services initiatives.
- New hires are expected to be in person for the initial 8 weeks of onboarding; thereafter the employee will move to a hybrid model (1 day in office, 4 days remote).
- Bachelor’s degree or related engineering degree.
- Experience designing with at least one of the following suppliers:
Onsemi, Infineon, Microchip, ST Micro Electronics, Tyco Electronics. - Ability to solve complex problems and take a new perspective using existing solutions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and also to work well in small teams.
- Strong communication skills.
- Field Applications Engineer experience.
Fully remote, with one day in the office (Monday) for new hires during the initial onboarding period.
