PositionIT Audit Project Manager – responsible for leading IT audit and cybersecurity initiatives for a federal agency, ensuring contract requirements and deliverables are executed on time, within scope, and in compliance with federal standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT audit and cybersecurity projects.
- Manage project schedules, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful contract performance.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams and monitor progress against contractual requirements.
- Support IT audit activities, cybersecurity assessments, and compliance initiatives aligned with federal regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare project status reports, executive briefings, and client deliverables.
- Foster strong client relationships while ensuring quality, timeliness, and mission success.
- Serve as the primary liaison between audit teams, program stakeholders, and leadership throughout the audit lifecycle.
- Coordinate audit requests, documentation, and stakeholder responses to ensure timely support of audit activities.
- Perform audit readiness activities, reviewing prior findings, assessing controls, and researching applicable regulations and best practices.
- Analyze audit trends, findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Track findings and corrective action plans, conduct verification and validation of remediation efforts, and prepare supporting documentation for audit closure.
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders to implement, document, and evaluate effectiveness of internal controls.
- Develop and maintain project dashboards, status reports, agendas, minutes, and other documentation to support executive reporting.
- Maintain centralized repositories for audit documentation and deliverables.
- Facilitate meetings with government stakeholders, communicate audit status and milestones, and coordinate feedback on findings.
- Support audit metrics and reporting to provide leadership with accurate visibility into performance and compliance status.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience managing federal IT, cybersecurity, or audit projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Current CISSP or CISA certification.
- Experience supporting federal IT governance, risk management, audit, and compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, RMF).
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.
