OIT seeks a Desktop Senior Technical Analyst to provide Tier II and III desktop support to a diverse user base, including state employees, contractors, interns, vendors, and some county users. The analyst will lead technical work, acting as a subject‑matter expert and managing support requests beyond Service Desk level.
This recruitment is open only to current employees of the Office of Information Technology for the State of Colorado. Applications from contractors are not accepted.
Responsibilities- Provide resolution and assistance for Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Deploy new or rebuilt computers following OIT and agency security policies.
- Install Enterprise Configuration Management Tool platform components.
- Install USB‑based software.
- Install InTunes‑based imaging solutions.
- Support desktop, laptop, and tablet users; troubleshoot issues with Microsoft, Adobe, and other production software.
- Provide resolution, assistance, and limited training for standard supported applications including productivity software, internet browser applications, antivirus‑security programs, proprietary applications and systems.
- Log service incidents in the ticketing system.
- Assist other IT teams (Security, Server, Network, Voice, etc.) with additional duties when needed. Examples include network troubleshooting and file server management.
Five (5) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position, including previous experience in a professional service desk or desktop support environment.
Substitutions- Additional appropriate education substitutes for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis but cannot fully replace these qualifications.
- Training or certification related to the work assigned to the position is credited toward substitution for experience or education but cannot fully replace the qualifications.
- If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience substitutes for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows Desktop operating systems.
- Windows 7 (32/64 Bit)
- Windows 10 (32/64 Bit)
- Android OS (best effort)
- Apple iOS (best effort)
- Ability to express technical matters verbally and in writing to personnel without a technical background.
- SCCM experience.
- Compliance with all screening procedures at state agency locations where work may be performed.
- Pre‑employment background check; post‑employment checks may include polygraph, fingerprint‑based criminal history search, reference checks, and drug test.
- Travel within Colorado and to other state locations as needed.
- On‑call duties as required.
- Remote work requires periodic reporting to the primary state work location; all remote work must be performed in Colorado.
- Relocation to Colorado required for out‑of‑state candidates; a reasonable relocation timeframe will be established individually.
