Engineer Senior

Pulse Point location at 5800 Northampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. The role requires in‑office presence 1–2 days per week with flexibility for remote work per company policy. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance or have a statutory accommodation.

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsible for delivering end‑to‑end application, system development, and maintenance on complex multi-technology platforms within the assigned client group, business unit, or corporate department. Utilizes multiple customer technology platforms.

• Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and lead requirements‑gathering meetings.
• Own the change request process; coordinate with other teams as necessary.
• Provide technical advice and weigh in on technical decisions that impact cross‑functional teams.
• Research and propose new technologies; develop and own a list of final enhancements.
• Define application scope and objectives; prepare technical and/or functional specifications for programs written.
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Own technical testing to ensure unit tests meet the test plan requirements; oversee system testing and implementation.
• Assess current status and support data information planning.
• Coordinate on‑call support and ensure effective system monitoring.
• Maintain technical development environment.
• Mentor others; lead multiple or small to medium sized projects; set direction at the project/service level.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and communication of standards with buy‑in from stakeholders.
• Facilitate group sessions for complex requirements clarification, design, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Support vendor evaluation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Five (5) years of Information Technology experience.
• Master’s degree with three (3) years of related IT experience preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, SOAP, Postman, MS Visio, JIRA, Confluence, API Web Services, Mainframe, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) Services.
