About Dev Tech

Dev Tech Systems, Inc. (Dev Tech) is a global advisory firm specializing in evidence-based policy, data systems, and monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning. For more than 40 years, Dev Tech has helped governments and organizations around the world use data to improve transparency, resilience, and sustainable growth.

At Dev Tech, we value curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. We are seeking an organized and motivated early-career professional who is interested in building a career in operations, project support, and international development consulting.

Position Summary

Dev Tech is seeking a Communications Assistant to support the company’s corporate, project-level, and client-facing communications needs. This short-term role is expected to start mid-July/early August and extend through January, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on organizational needs and performance.

The Communications Assistant will work closely with Dev Tech’s home office team to support communications, marketing, outreach, and product-related materials across the company. This role will also interface with government clients on Dev Tech products, helping ensure communications materials are clear, polished, strategically aligned, and responsive to client needs.

While responsibilities will evolve based on organizational priorities, a significant portion of the Assistant’s work will involve copyediting, content development, formatting, and communications support for Dev Tech products, proposals, reports, outreach materials, and client-facing deliverables. The Assistant may also support branding, social media, design, data visualization, and storytelling efforts.

This is a hybrid role based in Arlington, Virginia. The Assistant must be available to work in the Dev Tech office at least two days per week and must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for a U.S. government security clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support communications for Dev Tech products and client-facing tools, including materials that explain product features, updates, training resources, user guidance, and implementation support.

    • Factsheets, brochures, banners, and other outreach materials
  • Support management of Dev Tech’s social media platforms and contribute to a consistent, strategic online presence.
  • Format proposals, reports, presentations, and outreach materials according to Dev Tech, Department of State, and other client branding requirements, while supporting Section 508 compliance.
  • Assist in implementing Dev Tech’s marketing and communications strategy and project-level communications campaigns.
  • Support organizational change management, internal communications, and product adoption efforts.
  • Copyedit proposals, reports, client-facing materials, and other written products as needed.
  • Perform additional communications and/or administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or other relevant field
  • Strong writing, editing, and copyediting skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and government clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and report to Dev Tech’s Arlington, Virginia office at least two days per week.
  • The candidate must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for a U.S. government security clearance.
