Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a (part time/remote) native Chinese Mandarin Cultural & Language Advisor with strong English skills to support security cooperation efforts. The role requires expert translation, interpretation, cultural analysis, and conversational sentiment assessment. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience in multicultural environments and the ability to navigate complex cultural and linguistic nuances.

What you will do

+ Provide language-enabled research, analytic services, and forward-thinking insight on complex issues related to China

+ Be responsible for the full range of activities in processing material or participating in situations requiring advanced capability to perform translation, transcription and interpretation tasks in support of the customer

+ Prepare assessments of current events based on sophisticated collection, research and analysis of open-source information, as well as develop and maintain analytical procedures to meet changing requirements and ensure maximum operations

+ Scan, sort/categorize foreign language written and verbal materials to recover essential elements of information

+ Complete lists, translations, and transcriptions, of complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken materials from Chinese Mandarin to English, and English to Chinese Mandarin

+ Perform quality control on language processing activities

+ Independently monitor and research various media to identify relevant Chinese language web content

+ Perform translations of various types of documents

+ Transcribe information into summaries

+ Additional duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

Level 3: 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

Level 4: 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.

Level 5: 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
