• Design, develop, and scale a modern enterprise data platform using a distributed data mesh architecture.
• Leverage advanced data engineering workflows, cloud-based data infrastructure, and agile product development methodologies.
• Serve as the primary technical product lead for a cross‑functional team of data engineers, ensuring delivery of scalable, high‑quality data products that support decentralized data ownership across the organization.
• Define and manage the strategic roadmap for the enterprise data platform, aligning with data mesh principles and data governance standards.
• Design and oversee data transformation workflows with dbt, developing reusable data models and scalable transformation logic.
• Implement ELT pipelines using Qlik and Five Tran for ingestion and Amazon Redshift for compute and analytics.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex data requirements into technical specifications and actionable development tasks.
• Lead agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, to ensure continuous delivery of platform enhancements.
• Ensure platform scalability, performance, and reliability by monitoring pipeline health and optimizing cloud resource usage.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers, promoting best practices in data modeling, transformation, and agile delivery.

$135,949 - $207,900 per year. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires at the Goleta, CA location. Pay is determined by location and additional factors such as skills and experience.

  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience is also acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive experience.
• Work Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in data platform development, data engineering, or product management within enterprise environments.

  Proven experience managing Agile scrum teams focused on data infrastructure and analytics; hands‑on expertise with dbt, Amazon Redshift (or equivalent cloud data warehouse), Qlik, Five Tran, data mesh, data fabric, or data lakes; proficiency with Jira and Confluence; strong cloud‑based data infrastructure skills in AWS; capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and driving cross‑functional alignment; ability to prepare technical documentation and communicate with stakeholders.
