Location: New York

Join Mizuho as a Corporate Functions Data Steward! Mizuho’s data operating model encompasses enterprise-wide groups and federated data domains to drive accountability and manage data. The Corporate Functions Data Domain will manage data related to Mizuho’s IT, People, and Legal functions.

Responsibilities
  • Data Strategy & Governance Translate enterprise strategies into actionable data management plans for the Corporate Functions Data Domain (IT, People and Legal). Lead new data initiatives by defining business cases, gathering requirements, and prioritizing projects across the domain. Establish and maintain processes aligned with Enterprise Data Policy and Standards for domain data. Oversee access and provisioning of Corporate Functions data, including defining access controls, supporting data users, and ensuring compliance with Data Service Agreements and regulatory standards.
  • Data Architecture Manage the definition of golden sources and systems of record for data in scope, including HR systems, procurement systems, IT service management platforms, and legal systems.
  • Data Dictionary Support stakeholders in defining, validating, and maintaining business definitions for data elements. Accountable for data lineage and technical metadata for data elements within the domain. Identify need for changes in metadata within the domain, including impacts to workforce, IT operational, or legal data elements.
  • Data Quality Support stakeholders in developing and managing data quality controls for data within the domain to satisfy consumer requirements. Oversee remediation of data quality issues by prioritizing and reviewing remediation plans.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Act as the domain lead for the Bank’s core systems supporting IT, People (all workforce types), and Legal processes, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with enterprise standards. Engage with business contacts to understand data requirements, usage, and challenges, and collaborate with Technology partners to refine requirements and prioritize development work.
  • Team Leadership Manage the Data Stewards and Data Quality Analysts supporting the Corporate Functions Data Domain.
Demonstrated Skills

Deep understanding of IT, People (including HR and procurement), and/or Legal data and systems; fluency in data governance, data quality, and metadata management principles; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and manage competing priorities; experience with regulatory, workforce, security and legal requirements related to the financial industry.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years experience in a management role (Director/Executive Director)
  • 3+ years experience with Data Quality and Data Management
  • Experience with data design, data audit, data governance, HR, Procurement, IT or Legal preferred
  • Relevant skills, training, education and certifications considered in salary determination
Salary & Benefits

The expected base salary ranges from $200,000 to $250,000, with additional discretionary bonus opportunities and a generous benefits package.
