About DTMB
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the PositionThe Security Analyst position works as a member of the Incident Response Team. The analyst remediates cyber incidents and vulnerabilities while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of State of Michigan data.
This position may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12‑month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Position Location / Remote OfficeThis position is located in Dimondale, MI. It may work a hybrid schedule (remote 3 days per week / office 2 days per week). Selected candidates who work a hybrid schedule must complete work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 9: Associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics. No specific amount or type of experience required.
- Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11/12: Bachelor’s degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in the same fields. No specific type or amount of experience required.
- Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12: Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
Education and Experience
- For level 9:
High‑school completion plus two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT technician, or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant. - For levels 11‑12:
Associate’s degree with 16 semester credits plus two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or IT technician, or as an Information Technology Student Assistant. Alternatively, high‑school completion plus four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT technician, or four years (8,320 hours) as an Information Technology Student Assistant.
Candidates selected for this position must complete a Michigan State Police background check, including fingerprinting for state and federal criminal background records.
