Systems Engineer, IT Infrastructure
Prime Video is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Amazon MGM Studios Technology team in Culver City, CA. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support production and post‑production partners by designing, implementing, and maintaining business‑critical infrastructure for Studios teams globally.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and support Network, Systems and Storage solutions optimized for Studios workflows across on‑premises data centers, public cloud platforms, and production/post‑production facilities globally.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches for network equipment, storage arrays, and server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in large‑scale, multi‑platform environments supporting global production operations.
- Provide hands‑on technical support at production facilities, post‑production sites, and remote work environments; respond promptly to alerts and incidents.
- Execute storage provisioning, data migration, and capacity management tasks while developing scripts and automation tools for routine administrative operations.
- Collaborate with production teams, engineering groups, and vendors to understand requirements and implement solutions.
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides for Network, Systems and Storage infrastructure.
A day in the life of a Systems Engineer on the Media Systems Engineering team involves designing and implementing Network, Systems and Storage solutions that support Studios production workflows across global facilities, tackling complex technical challenges in hybrid cloud environments, and collaborating with engineers and production teams to ensure seamless infrastructure scalability. Your work will have immediate impact on production operations, from troubleshooting critical incidents to automating workflows and architecting next‑generation infrastructure.
BasicQualifications
- Experience in network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).
- Knowledge of access‑control systems and methodology, network security, application‑ and system‑development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, and operations security.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies.
- Experience in systems administration (Linux/Windows).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, with experience managing and troubleshooting network systems.
- 5+ years of hands‑on systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
- Experience managing or implementing system health, performance monitoring, capacity planning, or process improvement and automation.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, ops automation, and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
- Programming/scripting experience (Batch, VB, Power Shell, Java, C#, Perl, Ruby, or PHP) and familiarity with version control tools.
- Experience with virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen) or Kubernetes, Docker, or containers ecosystem.
- Experience with Active Directory or deploying identity and access management systems.
- Experience supporting media and entertainment workflows, including high‑throughput network design for media production and post‑production environments.
The base salary range for this position is $ – $ USD annually.
