Product Designer, UI/UX Design, AI Business & Operations
Staffomatic Design Role
Staffomatic is the digital platform for scheduling and time tracking, built for teams in gastronomy, retail, events, and more. Thousands of companies in the DACH market use our product daily to plan shifts, coordinate operations, and save time.
For our product team, we are looking for an experienced design personality who understands UX design as a strategic lever: someone who thinks through complex systems, connects user needs with business goals, and sees AI not as a trend but as a standard tool. With this, you work faster and deeper today in research synthesis, concept iteration, and prototyping than any classic setup.
If you have only tried AI, you are in the wrong place. If you work with it, you are in the right place.
Conception & Discovery
- You are responsible for the entire design process from the first concept idea to go-live, in close coordination with product management and engineering. At our company, you work in the product trio.
- You gather requirements from stakeholders, moderate discovery sessions, and translate complex technical and business frameworks into user-centered concepts.
- You design features that bring together user needs, business goals, and technical realities. You independently bring in perspectives for monetization.
User Research
- You plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research: user interviews, usability tests, in-app surveys, and more.
- You systematically evaluate results, translate them into concrete action recommendations, and derive concept priorities from them.
Prototyping & Testing
- You create prototypes at the right fidelity level, prepare usability tests, and conduct them.
- You draw clear next steps from test results and work data-driven, with metrics from tools like Post Hog or in-app surveys as a solid basis for decisions.
Design System & Quality
- You maintain our design system and develop it consistently: systemically thought, consistently implemented.
- You work closely with engineering so that concepts are not only well-designed but also well-built.
AI in the Design Process
- You actively drive the use of new AI tools in the team and set standards instead of just following along.
- You build your own workflows that eliminate routine work and share them with the team so that everyone can work faster.
- You proceed in a DSGVO-compliant manner and keep track of which data may be allowed in which tools.
What you bring with you
- AI-native working, provable: You use AI tools firmly in your design routine, whether for research synthesis, concept iteration, prototyping, or UX writing. You can show concretely how you have increased your output and pace with it.
- At least 3 years of professional experience: In product or UX design, with relevant time on complex digital products.
- Profound conceptual strength: You love to think through complex systems and translate them into clear, understandable user flows.
- Proven experience in user research, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
- Proven experience with design systems: building, maintaining, and developing.
- Very good knowledge in Figma.
- Data affinity: You can read product metrics, funnel data, and test results, categorize them, and use them as a basis for design decisions.
- Independent working style: You take topics forward independently, recognize when you need coordination, and do not lose quality or pace in the process.
- Experience with B2B or SaaS products: You know how user needs of end customers and business requirements of companies differ and condition each other.
- German as a native language: Our market, our users, and our team are German. This is reflected in every concept and every interview.
- Residence in Hamburg or the immediate vicinity, or remote-capable with occasional presence on site.
Advantageous
- UI design skills: consistent, systemically thought, pixel-perfect implementation.
- A sense for UX writing and microcopy: the small texts that make big differences.
- Experience in agile development environments and direct collaboration with engineering.
What awaits you at Staffomatic
- Flexible working: Combine home office and office time as it suits your work. We believe in results, not in mandatory presence.
- Our second office in Cape Town: You have the opportunity to work from our office in Cape Town for a while.
- Training budget: For courses, conferences, and tools. You decide where you want to grow.
- AI as a real working principle: We give you the space to actively shape processes and grow with the technology.
- Company pension scheme
- Part-time possible: We discuss models that really work.
- Team lunch & events: Regular joint lunches and team events that bring people together.
- Short paths between design, product, and engineering. Real co-creation instead of execution.
Does this sound like you? Then we look forward to your application with portfolio, a short cover letter, and your salary expectations. Show us in the portfolio or in the conversation a concrete example where AI has measurably changed your process.…
