Systems Engineer
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and fill two vacancies for the classification of Systems Engineer II in the Department of Information Technology. This open and continuous recruitment will remain open for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days.
Under general supervision, the Systems Engineer II provisions, installs, configures, operates, and maintains compute and storage environments, software, and related infrastructure, and performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience in systems engineering involving maintenance of compute and storage systems.
- Experience with server automation and scripting;
Power Shell, .NET, or other Dev Ops tools;
Azure, Microsoft 365, Linux; systems engineering including maintenance of computer and storage systems; and configuration of servers. - Must pass a nationwide fingerprint‑based record check and warrants check.
- Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire and be recertified every two years.
- Must obtain and maintain one of the following in a core service area within one year of appointment:
Windows/Linux Identity and Access Management Services;
Windows/Linux Operating Systems Services; eMail Services;
Compute or Storage Services;
Cloud Services;
Data Protection/Disaster Recovery Services;
Security Services.
Competitive salary range: $83,839.98 - $ annually.
Work‑life balance: 4‑day work week with standard day shift hours; remote work opportunities available after probation; candidate must reside in Nevada.
