CISCO - Routers / Switches

ASA Firewalls

• Provide daily oversight and guidance in managing operational matters and mentoring entry level engineers in all aspects of networking.
• Review and provide recommendations on network service design, maintenance, and implementation, including operational considerations based on customer requirements, operational experience, and technical knowledge.
• Architectural design, deployment, and documentation of new network requirements and changes to current network configurations.
• Oversee a major network architecture upgrade including white-paper design, deployment, and configuration of devices.
• Provide fault analysis, isolation, and correction, configuration, and upgrades of network devices including Cisco Routers, Firewalls, and Switches.
• Support customer networks involving cross-domain solutions, including VPNs, one-way data transfers, unclassified mission infrastructure, and Taclane 175 encryption devices. Configurations include routing using MPLS/VPLS, OSPF, and EIGRP at core and distribution devices and switching at access devices.
• Experience in reverse engineering systems to detail required system specifications, external interfaces, and environmental requirements.
• Build systems and networks that support the system and integrate it into the customer infrastructure.
• Provide recommendations and critical reviews of network or network service design, maintenance, and implementation based on customer requirements, operational experience, and technical knowledge.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst switches (Spanning Tree, Port Security, VTP, Ether Channel, VLANs).
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco ASR routers (including HSRP, OSPF, BGP, route-map).
• Configure/Troubleshoot Cisco ASA firewalls.
• Configure and troubleshoot BIND, DHCP, and DNS servers.
• Configure and troubleshoot HTTP/SSL/TLS based issues.
• Troubleshoot ACL/NAT issues on ASAs.
• Create router/switch templates for network standardization.
• Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning.
• Use Linux network troubleshooting tools to solve complex issues (tcpdump, ssldump, curl, wget, mtr, trace route, nmap, openssl, tshark).
• Develop bash and/or Python scripts, utilities, and tools used for network troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot DNS, SMTP, IP routing, latency, and connectivity issues.
• Implement TCP/IP and related services (DHCP/DNS).
• Install/Upgrade Cisco switches and ASA firewalls IOS using TFTP.
• Implement SSH/RADIUS authentication on Cisco hardware.
• Troubleshoot network problems using protocol analyzers.
• Maintain all LAN/WAN connectivity.
• Document network problems and resolutions for future reference using appropriate tools.
• Oversee software and network security.

• Experience scripting with Java using Linux.
• Strong background with Docker using Maven.
• Proficiency with Git/Git Lab; knowledge and experience with CI/CD and Git Ops principles.
• Experience with Helm, Kubectl, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Flux and Kustomize.
• Experience with Kafka, Kyverno and/or MinIO.

• Associates degree with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with twelve (12) years of relevant experience.

• High School Diploma with 20 years of relevant experience.

Compensation:
We are committed to providing fair and competitive compensation. The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $250,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation offered across the locations where we hire. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's work location, specific role, skill set, and level of expertise.
