Job DescriptionThe Digital Delivery team is responsible for engineering and supporting modern web and mobile applications through the development of user interfaces, microservices, and scalable solutions across multiple devices and platforms.
As a Performance Test Engineer, you will execute end‑to‑end performance testing efforts while partnering with QA leads and leadership to support activities across multiple initiatives. This role requires strong hands‑on performance engineering expertise, including designing, developing, and executing performance test strategies to validate system scalability, reliability, and stability.
Key focus areas include:
- Designing and executing performance test strategies for load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
- Developing and running automated performance test scripts and scenarios that accurately simulate real‑world user behavior.
- Building, maintaining, and enhancing automated performance testing solutions using tools such as Neo Load or similar platforms.
- Analyzing test results to identify bottlenecks, system constraints, and optimization opportunities.
- Utilizing monitoring and observability tools (App Insights, Splunk, etc.) to assess system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Integrating performance testing early in the SDLC and partnering with cross‑functional teams to establish realistic performance goals.
- Defining performance SLAs and baseline metrics using production insights.
- Implementing mocking strategies to isolate dependencies and enable stable, repeatable testing.
- Supporting QA leads and leadership in planning, prioritizing, and executing performance testing activities across multiple initiatives.
- Mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Reviewing test scripts, plans, and results to ensure alignment with standards and best practices.
- Communicating performance testing results, actionable insights, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of testing strategies, frameworks, and standards.
- Optimizing performance across distributed microservices architectures, containerized platforms, and cloud‑native environments.
- Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in performance testing.
- Experience designing and executing load, stress, endurance, or scalability tests.
- Understanding of performance metrics and workload modeling.
- Ability to identify performance risks before reaching production.
- Technical analysis/problem solving skills and root cause analysis.
- Hands‑on experience in automation/scripting.
- Proficiency with performance scripting/monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and agile methodologies, including test strategy, automation, defect management, and continuous quality improvement.
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience in software testing, emphasizing performance engineering, planning, execution, analysis, and optimization.
- Experience defining performance baselines and SLAs using production or production‑like environments.
- Experience with dependency mapping, service virtualization, and mocking frameworks (Wire Mock preferred).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure App Insights, Splunk, or equivalent.
- Hands‑on experience with Postman and performance testing tools such as Neo Load or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Azure Dev Ops or comparable test management tools for planning, executing, tracking, and reporting testing activities.
- Solid understanding of Dev Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
