Role Overview

Sr. Analyst, Product Analytics – San Mateo, CA

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, seeks a highly skilled analyst to drive testing strategy, segmentation, and data‑driven decision making for the Play Station brand. The role supports large‑scale testing initiatives and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to enhance product, marketing, and revenue optimization.

• Develop and deploy machine‑learning models for user segmentation, behavior prediction, fraud detection, and marketing analytics using Random Forest, Gradient Boosted Trees (XGBoost), Logistic Regression, K‑Means, DBSCAN, Latent Class Analysis, and association rule mining.
• Design and analyze experiments across A/B testing, multivariate testing, frequentist frameworks, and Bayesian experimentation, and design multi‑dimensional test structures.
• Mitigate validity threats (e.g., SRM, contamination, multi‑exposure) through stratified sampling, CUPED adjustment, and other advanced techniques.
• Perform causal impact measurement and competitor analysis using quasi‑experimental methods, including Synthetic Control Models and time‑series techniques such as Difference‑in‑Differences, Interrupted Time Series, Bayesian Structural Time Series, Seasonal‑Trend Decomposition, and Rolling Regression.
• Build and maintain dashboards in Tableau or DOMO, integrating ETL processes and ensuring data integrity.
• Support and scale experimentation infrastructure by troubleshooting technical configurations, managing data pipelines, and validating metrics.
• Analyze digital user behavior and monetization metrics—online customer journeys, website conversions, payment‑related interactions, retention, churn modeling, marketing ROI—to uncover actionable insights.
• Apply data mining and behavioral segmentation techniques to uncover patterns that drive product, marketing, and revenue decisions.
• Utilize Python, R, SQL, Adobe Analytics, Customer Journey Analytics, and cloud‑based platforms such as Databricks, Data Ocean, Redshift, AWS S3, MongoDB, Postgres, and the data catalog to manage and analyze large‑scale datasets.
• Maintain a Master’s degree in Business Analytics (or related field) and possess at least three (3) years of experience in the described analytical domains.
• Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permitted in accordance with company policies.
