Job Description

Join GDIT’s Intelligence and Homeland Security (IHS) CTO organization and help drive the technical solutions needed to win our most complex and strategic deals. As the Director, Solutions Architect for the IHS Chief Technology Office, the role manages the development of solutions for proposals in the Intelligence market space and directly interfaces with internal and external clients on a pre‑proposal basis.

Candidate will analyze RFI and RFP requirements, develop responsive solutions, review solutions developed by others, present solutions to clients, develop use‑cases and work closely with capture and proposal teams. The role will author proposal materials, develop logical and physical architectures, and manage a small to medium‑sized team.

Key Responsibilities

Pursuit/Capture Leadership
- Lead technical solution strategy from early qualification through proposal submission
- Contribute to win strategies and develop technical win themes and solution readiness plans
- Engage customers to understand needs, socialize and vet solutions, advising on acquisition strategies
- Identify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to meet acquisition requirements
- Lead solution design and develop key artifacts: architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, staffing plans, etc.
- Develop unsolicited technical recommendations, collateral, and RFI/SSN responses to engage prospective customers
- Collaborate with technical service areas and lines of business to deliver differentiated strategies
- Contribute to teaming strategies and identify potential partners
- Develop cost strategies, LOEs/BOEs/BOMs, and their rationale
Proposal Leadership
- Ensure readiness of solution and proposal support team to prepare a compliant response
- Lead development of the technical volumes and oral presentations for proposals
- Coach and advise junior solution architecture and proposal support resources
- Integrate technical solution with all proposal sections and volumes
- Review proposals and provide critical feedback to strengthen solution and proposals
- Author technical volume introductions, key sections, and oral slide decks with compelling graphics

Minimal Qualifications

20+ years of related experience
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance;
Polygraph clearance strongly preferred
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, similar discipline or equivalent experience
U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of experience successfully architecting technical solutions and leading capture pursuits and proposals
Experience providing cybersecurity solutions to Intelligence Community customers
Experience with technical leadership and project management
Demonstrated experience leading the solution architecture for a deal that booked over $750M
Ability to lead solution development and technical proposal volumes for large scale ($1B+), highly strategic, complex deals
Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment
Ability to motivate teams, manage long capture and proposal periods, and perform under challenging situations
Ability to engage customers, build trust and influence action
Ability to write compelling, compliant narratives that articulate GDIT’s solutions and approaches within government evaluation criteria
Ability to conceptualize and communicate rich graphics that strengthen the story and effectively convey concepts

Work Conditions

Hybrid work location between GDIT facility in Herndon, VA and remote (home office)
Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines
Sitting for extended periods in a typical office setting
