The Principal Strategist serves as an advisor and architect within Engage fi's consulting practice. This role leads the development and delivery of digital strategy programs, drives the firm's thought leadership platform, and shapes repeatable data-driven methodologies that power client engagements across the financial services sector. The Principal Strategist operates at the intersection of strategy, technology, and market intelligence, with a mandate to anticipate industry disruption, translate it into actionable client guidance, and expand the firm's advisory capabilities in response to emerging needs.

Essential functions and additional responsibilities include digital strategy program development and delivery, thought leadership and industry presence, thought leadership research, strategy offering development, data development and repeatable intelligence, client strategy and advisory, and sales enablement and practice growth.

Required skills and competencies include demonstrated ability to develop and deliver original strategy programs, proven track record in thought leadership, strong research acumen, ability to identify market gaps and build new consulting offerings, experience working with internal teams and third-party data sources, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong facilitation and executive presence, and deep familiarity with the community banking and credit union landscape.

Required education and experience include a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred, 10+ years of experience in financial services strategy, management consulting, or digital advisory, with a demonstrated focus on community banks or credit unions preferred, established thought leadership portfolio, experience developing consulting offerings or service lines, and experience with software procurement, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation in a financial institution context preferred.

Physical requirements include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds ition type/expected hours of work is full time/40 hours per week. Location is remote with 30% travel required.
