This position is in an office environment with a hybrid work schedule. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.
How You'll Make an Impact- Design, implement, monitor and troubleshoot cloud systems within your assigned areas
- Define strategy, roadmaps and reference architectures for cloud workloads including network, security, data and applications
- Build and optimize tools for automated deployment, implement Dev Ops pipelines and collaborate with engineering teams to streamline and simplify deployment and resolve production issues
- Develop and deploy new modules, upgrades, and fixes within production environments
- Serve as a specialist for performance and reliability, solving design challenges and developing specialized skillsets
- Articulate recommendations for enhancing performance through gap analysis, identifying practical alternatives and assisting with modifications
- Drive improvements in capacity, reliability, availability, monitoring, and performance of Spectrum's core systems
- Create well-documented, flexible code in Spectrum's standard programming languages
- Design intuitive interfaces for Dev Ops tool stacks that feature clear navigation
- Evaluate and introduce technologies that enhance efficiency, performance, and reliability
- Work closely with team members and operations to advance Dev Ops methodology
- Provide comprehensive documentation support for developers and testers
- Adapt objectively to iterative changes and evolving technology requirements
Required Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 7+ years software engineering experience in JavaScript, Type Script, Java, or Python
- 5-8 years Dev Ops engineering experience
- 4-5 years automating CI/CD pipelines with tools like Git Hub Actions, Jenkins or Argo and managing blue/green and canary deployments
- 2-3 years using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation or Bicep and Git Ops workflows
- 2-3 years working with Helm and Kubernetes management tools including ArgoCD, EKS or GKE
- 2-3 years working with AWS, Azure, GCP and hybrid integration with on-premises systems
- Ability to write clear technical documentation for developers and testers
- Skill in managing multiple assignments under limited direction
- Ability to identify and resolve highly complex issues
- Experience building consensus with leadership and implementation teams
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
- Thorough understanding of software engineering and object-oriented design principles
- Front-end development expertise across Java, mobile apps and web technologies
- Familiarity with Maven and Ant for dependency management and build systems
- Expert knowledge of open source software including Angular or React
- Master's Degree
- Ability to work in a lean agile format as part of a scrum team
