Azure Cloud Engineer – Government Services
Full‑time direct hire position. Must currently hold an active Secret Security Clearance or higher. US citizenship required. Eligibility to obtain Top‑Secret clearance required.
Location:
Washington, DC (fully on‑site). Remote work not allowed long‑term.
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure including VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure AD, and PaaS services.
- Manage and optimize Azure networking components (VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN/Express Route connectivity).
- Develop and maintain Terraform templates (critical requirement).
- Support automation via Power Shell, Bash, YAML/JSON, and Git Lab pipelines.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments (host pools, session hosts, FSLogix profile containers, Azure AD/M365 integrations).
- Provide troubleshooting and performance optimization for AVD users.
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in Git Lab.
- Automate cloud operations, system configuration, and monitoring tasks.
- Implement secure cloud practices aligned with federal requirements (RBAC, Key Vault, IAM, encryption standards).
- Ensure compliance with NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, and agency‑specific controls.
- Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools to analyze system health, diagnose issues, and enforce SLAs.
- Work with engineering, security, and program staff to support ongoing cloud modernization efforts.
- Support onsite collaboration with customer stakeholders.
- 3+ years experience with Azure Cloud Engineering.
- 3+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- 3+ years experience using Terraform for IaC.
3+ years experience using Git Lab. - Minimum of 4 years experience with Power Shell scripting.
- 5+ years experience in Cloud Engineering, Dev Ops, or Systems Engineering.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure core services and architecture.
- Proficiency with Terraform, Power Shell, and Git Lab CI/CD.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in production environments.
- Understanding of federal cloud security frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, RMF).
- Strong troubleshooting and communication abilities; able to operate on‑site 4 days/week.
- Minimum of Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
- Experience supporting DoD or federal agency cloud environments.
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes (AKS).
- Experience with Azure serverless tools (Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid).
A reasonable estimate for this position is $ to $ annually. Actual salary will depend on factors such as shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. Variable incentive compensation may also apply.
