Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Systems Analyst. As a Systems Analyst you would provide technical support performing a variety of tasks related to the Washtenaw County Road Commission's hardware, software, network, and other technological systems.

Schedule
  • Normal schedule:
    Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Summer schedule:
    Option to work 4/10 or 5/8 work schedule.
  • Telecommuting, subject to WCRC's Telecommuting Policy
    , is an option for this position; however, remote work may not be available until training and onboarding are complete.
Essential Duties
  • Provides first contact support for staff hardware and software needs and maintenance for computer systems, peripherals, and network connectivity, providing timely resolution of hardware and software problems. Tracks these changes through an internal ticketing system.
  • Tracks significant problems, monitors performance, and performs upgrades to hardware and software as required, reporting patterns/trends in equipment problems to the IT Manager.
  • Installs and configures new and/or updates computer hardware components and client software and maintains assignments through an asset management system.
  • Supports, monitors, and maintains agency network platforms and networking related software in a Windows environment including AD, DHCP, GPO, DNS, and certificate management.
  • Updates and tests ongoing security improvements including regular and timely operating system patches, security patches and other applications.
  • Actively protects agency information technology assets and infrastructure from external or internal threats by continued monitoring of network activity.
  • Performs regular inventory checks on all asset tagged equipment and maintains stock levels for untagged peripherals.
  • Oversees printer toner inventory and engages the vendor when replacements or tech support is needed.
  • Provides training to staff by both one-on-one sessions as well as classroom sessions.
  • Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts per request.
  • Works with the MSP to support the repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with impacted constituencies.
  • Creates and maintains process and break/fix documentation within an internal knowledgebase.
  • Configures, customizes, and integrates software applications and systems.
  • Trains users and provides ongoing support and technical assistance.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation, including system architecture, designs, and manuals.
  • Conducts research and keeps abreast on emerging technologies and recommends innovative solutions; tests and evaluates new technologies.
Requirements
  • Systems Analyst I requires at least one year of IT desktop support experience;
    Systems Analyst II requires three to five years of progressively responsible systems or network experience;
    Systems Analyst III requires five or more years of concentrated systems or network experience.
  • Associate's degree required for Systems Analyst I; bachelor s degree required for Systems Analyst II and III in Computer Science, Information Services, or a related field.
