This role offers the opportunity to manage and enhance enterprise People Soft environments that support critical business operations.
You will take ownership of platform architecture, administration, upgrades, integrations, and performance optimization.
The position combines deep People Tools expertise with modern infrastructure, automation, and cloud technologies.
You will collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver stable, scalable, and secure enterprise solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong troubleshooting skills, operational discipline, and experience supporting complex production environments.

The People Tools Specialist will be responsible for the technical administration, optimization, and ongoing evolution of enterprise People Soft platforms. This role requires strong expertise in People Tools, infrastructure operations, automation, and production support to ensure reliable and secure system performance.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support People Soft environments across development, testing, training, and production stages.
- Lead People Tools upgrades, People Soft Update Manager (PUM) image applications, and patch management activities.
- Manage People Soft application servers, process schedulers, web servers, and integration broker components.
- Administer Elasticsearch, Open Search, or legacy search technologies supporting People Soft functionality.
- Perform system copies, environment refreshes, and cloning activities while maintaining operational consistency.
- Support database connectivity and collaborate with database teams on Oracle administration activities.
- Configure and maintain People Soft security across application, web, and infrastructure layers.
- Operate People Soft Cloud Manager or similar automation platforms where applicable.
- Design and support high availability and disaster recovery strategies for People Soft environments.
- Develop automation solutions using shell scripting, Python, Ansible, or similar tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity while identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Provide post-production support, incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, configurations, operational procedures, and support guides.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through knowledge sharing, technical reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
The ideal candidate is an experienced People Soft technical professional with strong administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure skills. They should be comfortable managing complex enterprise systems, improving operational processes, and collaborating across technical and business teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Five or more years of hands‑on People Soft People Tools administration experience.
- Experience managing People Tools upgrades and People Soft Update Manager (PUM) processes.
- Strong knowledge of People Soft application servers, process schedulers, Web Logic, and Tuxedo.
- Experience administering Elasticsearch, Open Search, or similar search platforms for People Soft.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Database administration and database connectivity.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration skills and shell scripting experience.
- Familiarity with People Soft Cloud Manager or comparable automation tools.
- Experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD approaches for People Soft change management is a plus.
- Experience with People Soft Selective Adoption strategies is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance.
- Competitive salary range of $100,000–$150,000 annually.
