Health Partners is hiring a Principal Data Analyst. Our mission is to provide simple and affordable health care, and data plays a critical role in improving member and patient experiences, advancing health outcomes, and reducing the cost of care.

The Principal Data Analyst serves as the Product Owner for Health Partners' enterprise ERP reporting portfolio, partnering with business stakeholders and the reporting delivery team to prioritize work, manage the product backlog, define requirements, and guide delivery of reporting solutions that support Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Supply Chain, and other operational areas.

Working in a collaborative Agile environment, this individual partners with developers, data engineers, data scientists, and business leaders to deliver reporting and analytics solutions that transform data into actionable insights. This role requires a strong understanding of business operations, reporting needs, and data capabilities, along with the ability to balance competing priorities across a complex portfolio of initiatives.

Through stakeholder engagement, roadmap planning, backlog governance, and delivery oversight, the Principal Data Analyst helps ensure reporting solutions align with organizational goals and provide meaningful value to the business. This position is essential to supporting ongoing reporting needs, advancing the ERP reporting strategy, and delivering high-quality analytics solutions that support Health Partners' mission.

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, business, computer science, data or social science, operations research, statistics, or a related quantitative field. Alternate experience and education in equivalent areas is acceptable. Experience in more than one area is strongly preferred.
• Five (5) years of firsthand experience using technical and analytical skills to extract, integrate, layout and interpret complex and disparate data sources (certification/other training in lieu of yrs experience)
• Demonstrated expertise using data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.
• Must have mastered the ability to tell stories using data.
• Must have expertise in SQL and relational database design.
• Experience using programming languages such as Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated experience and skill presenting findings and actionable recommendations.
• Must be motivated, self-driven, curious, and creative.
• Must be skilled communicators, and demonstrate an ability to work with development teams, end users, and business leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to support and complement the work of a diverse development and/or operations team.

• Knowledge of health care operations
• Exposure to agile/scrum (including tools like JIRA)
• Expert-level knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, with demonstrated experience using them to solve complex analytical and business challenges.
• Experience using Azure Data Lake, Dev Ops, Power Automate, or other tools in the Azure Suite
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding systems; ICD-10, CPT4, DRG, GPI.
• Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques (predictive modeling, segmentation, regression, etc.)
• Familiarity with software development, data, and integration architecture
• Experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data.

• Monday–Friday; core business hours
• This is a hybrid position with the flexibility to work primarily remotely. While remote work is supported, preference will be given to candidates who are local and available to attend occasional onsite meetings and workgroup sessions.
