The IT Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the organization's technology function, ensuring IT initiatives align with business objectives and support operational excellence. This role leads the planning, implementation, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology solutions while driving digital transformation and innovation. The IT Director oversees IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, project delivery, vendor management, and team development to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective technology services across the organization.
This role can be fully remote, however you must reside in either California, Texas, Oregon or Arizona. The salary range for this position varies based on geographic location. Individual offers will be determined by factors including location, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Lead and oversee all IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, cloud services, cybersecurity, and end-user support.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and business performance.
- Establish and maintain IT governance, security, compliance, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs.
- Manage IT budgets, technology investments, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations to maximize value and cost effectiveness.
- Direct the planning and delivery of enterprise technology projects, ensuring successful execution within scope, timeline, and budget.
- Build, develop, and lead high-performing IT teams by fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Partner with executive leadership and key stakeholders to identify technology solutions, measure performance, and support organizational priorities.
- Directly manages the IT Manager and provides leadership to the IT staff while setting the strategic direction for the organization's overall information technology function.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Experience leading enterprise IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and business applications.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing IT strategies that support organizational growth and transformation.
- Experience managing complex technology projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, compliance, and business continuity practices.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change and digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and technology investments.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications:
- ITIL Certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other relevant cloud certifications
Safety:
Employee will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety regulatory requirements.
Physical Demands:
Must pass Company required screening tests. The employee is regularly required to sit and stand, reach with hands and arms and perform light routine office work, which includes computer workstation usage.
