Devsecops Research And Development Engineer
We are seeking Dev Sec Ops Research and Development Engineers to join our Digital Engineering team of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. These positions would work out of State College, PA or Reston, VA.
ARL is an authorized DoD Skill Bridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
You will:
- Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
- Manage continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency
- Improving systems through updates and optimizations using various technologies
- Present program overviews, proposals, and technical briefings at internal and external events
- Coordinate with sponsors and team members to identify risks, issues, requirements, and design solutions for project-level activity on a day to day basis
Required Skills/Experience areas include:
- Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Ansible
- Experience with version control software such as Git
- Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with logging, search, and/or aggregation tools such as Splunk, Elastic, or Prometheus
- Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management
- Well-organized, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills/Experience areas include:
- Working with Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
- Working knowledge in Java, C/C++, and Matlab
- Familiarity with VMWare virtualization tools
- Familiarity with Git Lab
- Experience with databases such as SQL, PostreQL, and MySQL
- Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services
Your working location will be fully on-site, located in State College, PA or Reston, VA, a hybrid on-site/work from home, or fully remote, dependent on skillset and location, within the U.S. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
