Our client is seeking a senior, hands-on IT Operations & Support Specialist to join their team in The Woodlands, Texas. This is a highly visible role for an experienced IT professional who can balance day-to-day end-user and executive support with ownership of IT operations initiatives, acquisition integrations, and other technology projects as business needs evolve.

You will serve as the primary IT presence for their The Woodlands office, providing responsive Level 1 and Level 2 technical support while acting as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, our corporate IT team, managed services provider (MSP), and third-party vendors.

A significant component of this role will be supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses into our corporate IT environment and MSP operating model. You will help coordinate projects from initial planning and vendor engagement through implementation, cutover, and stabilization.

This position requires a strong understanding of enterprise IT and networking concepts. However, this is not a dedicated network engineer role. The successful candidate will troubleshoot network-related issues, coordinate changes with the MSP, and validate network and infrastructure functionality, while advanced network configuration and ongoing network management remain with the MSP.

Key Responsibilities End-User and Executive IT Support
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 onsite technical support to office-based employees and executive users.
  • Serve as the primary IT point of contact for the The Woodlands office.
  • Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, peripherals, and other end-user technology.
  • Support network connectivity, Wi-Fi, and endpoint-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot conference room and meeting room technology.
  • Provide high-touch, responsive support to executives and senior leaders.
  • Coordinate workstation setups, device refreshes, hardware replacements, and user onboarding.
  • Communicate clearly with users throughout the troubleshooting and resolution process.
Ticket Management and Operational Accountability
  • Own assigned IT tickets from creation through resolution and closure.
  • Ensure tickets are properly documented, actively managed, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize issues based on business impact, urgency, and executive requirements.
  • Proactively manage open tickets to prevent aging or stalled issues.
  • Coordinate with the MSP on escalated issues while maintaining ownership and accountability for resolution.
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation, categorization, status updates, and resolution notes.
IT Operations and MSP Coordination
  • Act as the onsite extension of the corporate IT organization and managed services provider.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, remediation, and operational activities with the MSP.
  • Assist with identity and access management activities, endpoint security initiatives, and IT operational standards.
  • Document recurring issues, known fixes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Serve as a key point of coordination between users, corporate IT, the MSP, and third-party technology vendors.
Acquisition Integration and IT Operations
  • Own IT operations activities associated with the integration of newly acquired businesses.
  • Lead the onboarding of acquired companies into the corporate IT and MSP-managed environment.
  • Manage integration activities from initial scoping and vendor quotes through implementation, cutover, and stabilization.
  • Coordinate activities related to End-user devices and workstation standardization, Identity and access, onboarding, Network connectivity and site readiness, Network cutovers and transition activities, MSP transition and operational handoff
  • Installation and deployment of cybersecurity, network, email, and other IT tools
  • Serve as the primary IT point of accountability between internal stakeholders, the MSP, and third-party vendors.
