DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert, leading efforts to improve enterprise monitoring and event management across hybrid systems while supporting key programs throughout the Commonwealth. Work involves overseeing tools, processes, and staff that help ensure strong system performance and reliable operations. As an Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Platform Expertise:
Maintain deep proficiency in monitoring tools and processes including IBM AIOps and IBM Instana - Workflow Automation:
Transform manual processes into scalable automated workflows using intelligent automation capabilities - Incident Improvement:
Enhance change management, incident reporting, and problem resolution through advanced monitoring features - Technical Evaluation:
Prepare and implement solutions for applications and systems including configuration and optimization activities - Team Supervision:
Lead staff by assigning work, coaching employees, and reviewing performance - Operational Support:
Maintain monitoring integrity for applications and infrastructure while supporting agencies across the Commonwealth
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. After hour support will be required, as needed.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- One year as an Information Technology Generalist 2, Applications Developer 2, Database Analyst, Information Security Specialist 1, or Network Specialist 2; (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- Three years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field;
or - One year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
