Role:
Global Scape EFT (MFT) Engineer
Location:
Allentown, NY (REMOTE)
Duration:
Long Term Contract
Role Summary
We’re seeking a Global Scape EFT (Enhanced File Transfer) Process Developer to design, build, harden, and support enterprise-grade managed file transfer workflows. The contractor will own Advanced Workflow Engine (AWE) development, vendor onboarding, secure transmission (SFTP/HTTPS), DMZ Gateway configuration, high availability across data centers, and robust error-handling with clear operational documentation. This role partners closely with Networking, Firewall, Load Balancer, Security/Zscaler, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, auditable, customer-facing file transfer services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workflow Design & Development (AWE):
o Build advanced, modular EFT workflows: conditional logic, parallel processing, retries/backoff, idempotency, SLA timers, and robust notifications (email).
o Implement processes that wait for multiple input files, fan out to multiple vendors, and produce a single consolidated acknowledgment/signal file.
o Handle validations, transformations (PGP encrypt/decrypt, compress/uncompress), and archiving.
2. Platform Configuration & Administration:
o Configure Sites, Users/Groups, permissions, virtual folders, connection profiles (SFTP/HTTPS/Work spaces).
o Manage DMZ Gateway, high availability/clustering, and redundancy across SDC and BOC (or equivalent data centers).
o Administer certificates/keys (TLS/PKI, SSH keys, PGP), cipher policies, mTLS, IP restrictions, and audit logging.
3. Networking & Load Balancing:
o Collaborate with teams on SSL passthrough/offload, persistence, and health monitors.
o Troubleshoot intermittent connectivity across firewalls, Zscaler/proxies, NAT, routing, and DNS, driving root cause and permanent fixes.
4. Integration & Automation:
o Integrate EFT with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs, databases (SQL Server), and ticketing (Service Now).
o Script tooling (Power Shell) for automation, test harnesses, and repeatable deployments.
5. Operational Excellence & Documentation:
o Create architecture diagrams, sequence/data flow diagrams, and error-handling matrices.
o Define KPIs/SLAs; implement health checks, metrics, and alerting for proactive monitoring.
o Lead vendor onboarding: requirements capture, connection validation, UAT, cutover planning, and post go live stabilization.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years administering and developing on Global Scape EFT, including Advanced Workflow Engine (AWE), Work spaces, and DMZ Gateway.
• Deep expertise with SFTP/HTTPS, SSH key management, TLS/PKI, and PGP encryption.
• Strong scripting skills in Power Shell; experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML.
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, routing, firewall ACLs, proxies (e.g., Zscaler), and certificate chains.
• Hands-on with F5 BIG IP (LTM): SSL bridging/passthrough, persistence, health monitors, SNAT/iRules.
• Security/compliance mindset (least privilege, auditing, data protection; familiarity with SOX is a plus).
• Experience with environment promotion, change management (ITIL/Service Now), and writing clear, professional documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement—able to translate complex technical issues into concise updates.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with other MFT platforms (IBM Sterling, Go Anywhere, MOVEit) and migration/consolidation projects.
• Cloud integration (Azure/AWS), private endpoints, Key Vault/Cyber Ark, Express Route, storage services (S3/Azure Blob).
• AD/LDAP integration with EFT; MFA/SSO patterns.
• Performance tuning and capacity planning for high volume, customer facing transfers.
