** We are searching for a motivated undergraduate student to join the
** Visualization and Decision Support Division
** at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State.  This
** fall/spring
** internship will concentrate on gaining hands-on experience in AI/ML data preparation and contributing to meaningful research
** ARL is an authorized DoD Skill Bridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
**** Typical focus areas include:
*** Label and annotate diverse datasets with a primary focus on geospatial data such as tracks, images, video, text, and sensor data
* Support AI/ML model development for Navy, Department of Defense (DoD), and Intelligence Community (IC) applications
* Utilize industry-standard and custom labeling tools while collaborating with AI/ML researchers and engineers to understand requirements and contribute to data quality assurance processes
** Students majoring in the following fields are encouraged to apply:
*** Undergraduate students in a STEM major (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Sciences, or related fields)
** Interest Skills/Experience areas include:
*** Drive to learn and grow in the AI/ML field
* Commitment to data quality
* Strong attention to detail
** Preferred but not required:
*** Interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science
* Familiarity with geospatial concepts or mapping technologies
* Previous experience with data analysis or annotation at any level
** You will work up to 20 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters and have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours/week over the summer. This is a paid internship opportunity, and location will be
** fully on-site located in State College, PA
