Akkodis is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer for one of our clients in Dearborn, Michigan.
Rate Range: $50.00/hour to $55.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
The Dev Ops Engineer will support the development, deployment, and maintenance of software systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, automating processes, improving system reliability, and helping teams deliver high-quality software more efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cloud platforms, system administration, automation, and modern Dev Ops practices.
This role is 4 days in office and 1 day work-from-home.
Please note, we cannot work on C2C basis for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and promote Dev Ops methodologies and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Git Hub Actions.
- Automate software build, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
- Support software releases and deployments across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, and infrastructure issues through root cause analysis.
- Assess existing systems and processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to improve release speed, reliability, and security.
- Develop solutions that integrate with internal applications and backend systems.
- Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and stability.
- Create and maintain documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- 5+ years of experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
- Strong experience administering and supporting Linux environments, with 7+ years of hands-on experience.
- Strong experience administering and supporting Microsoft Windows environments, with 7+ years of hands-on experience.
- Proven experience using Git Hub for source control, repository management, and collaboration, with 7+ years of experience.
- Extensive experience building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, with 7+ years of experience.
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and support, with 5+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing automation and scripting solutions using Python, with 5+ years of experience.
- Hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud services and infrastructure management, with 3+ years of experience.
- Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, and/or Power Shell.
- Strong understanding of Dev Ops methodologies, system administration, and infrastructure management principles.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex application, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and proactively identify and solve problems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to continuous process improvement.
- Experience with embedded systems build and development processes.
- Team leadership or mentoring experience.
- Experience with Git, Git Lab, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar tools.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Cloud Watch, or Lens.
- Experience with log management tools such as Elastic Stack, Grafana Loki, or Fluentd.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience working with cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, and Azure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for automation and innovation.
- Bachelors in information technology or related field.
