** Job Description**#
** Basic Purpose
** The Infrastructure Optimization and Modernization Coordinator serves as a strategic technical support role responsible for assessing, documenting, and improving the agency’s server and infrastructure environment. By evaluating system performance, reviewing configurations, and analyzing storage usage, this position provides clear, actionable recommendations that guide modernization decisions and strengthen the agency’s long‐term technology posture.#
** Typical Functions
**** Infrastructure Assessment & Modernization Planning
*** Evaluate existing architecture, identify improvement opportunities, and develop plans for implementing improvements.
* Research industry best practices to advise agency leadership on improving performance, reliability, scalability, and sustainability.
* Review and optimize server performance metrics.
* Provide periodic infrastructure health reports highlighting risk areas or outdated technology.
* Maintain architecture documentation.
* Coordinate with OMES partners to ensure agency practices follow statewide technology governance.
* Collaborate with OCC Developers, OMES technical groups, and external partners to gather information, validate technical concepts, and support modernization efforts.
* Facilitate communication between OCC staff and OMES subject matter experts regarding infrastructure‐related planning.#
** Education and Experience
*** Five (5) years of professional experience supporting, and maintaining server environments, including Microsoft Windows Server and Azure-hosted infrastructure.
* A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field may substitute for up to four (4) years of the required experience.
* An associate degree in an Information Technology–related field or a recognized technical certification (such as Microsoft Windows Server, Azure Administrator, or comparable IT infrastructure certification) may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
* Combinations of education, technical training, and hands-on experience may be considered, provided they total at least five (5) years of progressively responsible server or infrastructure-related work.#
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*** Strong understanding of Windows Server environments, virtualization concepts, storage systems, networking fundamentals, and configuration standards.
* Experience creating clear technical documentation using diagrams, structured templates, and standardized methods.
* Familiarity with statewide IT standards
* Detail‐oriented with strong organizational discipline for maintaining accurate documentation.
* Knowledge of Azure cloud environments and hybrid modernization strategies.#

**** The work location will be in the Oklahoma City office of the Corporation Commission.
** Core work hours for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission are Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.
