Remote Volunteer Cybersecurity Analyst — Nonprofit & EdTech

Help iLevelUP and Believe in Me identify, prioritize, and track cybersecurity risks affecting systems that serve underserved youth and young people.

We are seeking a volunteer Cybersecurity Analyst to support risk assessment, vulnerability management, security monitoring, policy, and incident readiness across nonprofit and education-technology environments.

• Review alerts, logs, vulnerabilities, configurations, access, and security findings
• Assess likelihood, impact, priority, and remediation status
• Maintain risk registers, evidence, dashboards, and action tracking
• Support account, endpoint, cloud, email, data, and vendor security reviews
• Help document policies, standards, incident procedures, and awareness materials
• Coordinate remediation with IT, application, cloud, and security-engineering volunteers
• Analyze recurring issues and recommend practical control improvements
• Support authorized incident triage and post-incident learning

• Experience in cybersecurity analysis, governance, risk, compliance, SOC, IT audit, or systems administration
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, identity, cloud, endpoint, logging, phishing, and incident response
• Strong analytical judgment, discretion, documentation, and communication
• Ability to distinguish evidence from assumptions and prioritize proportionately
• Experience with NIST, CIS Controls, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure, or nonprofit systems is helpful

This remote, recurring opportunity typically requires up to 10 hours per month. Volunteers may participate from anywhere and must follow approved access and confidentiality procedures.
