GE Proficy Consultant

Location:

Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid / Remote) Job Type: Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced GE Proficy Consultant to support and lead the implementation, configuration, and integration of GE Digital's Proficy suite, including Proficy Historian, Proficy iFIX, CIMPLICITY, Operations Hub, and other modules. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of industrial automation systems and a deep understanding of manufacturing and production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and implement solutions using the GE Proficy suite (Historian, iFIX, Operations Hub, etc.)
  • Collaborate with plant operations, IT teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored industrial software solutions
  • Develop and deploy real-time data acquisition and visualization tools using Proficy
  • Integrate GE Proficy tools with MES, ERP, PLC/SCADA, and other OT systems
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for existing GE Proficy installations
  • Develop custom scripts, reports, and dashboards for real-time monitoring and decision-making
  • Conduct user training, create technical documentation, and support change management activities
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data governance, and industry standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Overall IT experience: 8-13+ Years
  • 5+ years of experience working with GE Digital Proficy tools (Historian, iFIX, Operations Hub, Cimplicity)
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation, SCADA, HMI, and PLC systems
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases, data modeling, and real-time data processing
  • Familiarity with OPC (UA/DA) protocols and industrial communication standards
  • Ability to understand P&IDs, process flows, and equipment layout
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred

Skills:

  • Experience in Pharma, Food & Beverage, Automotive, or Oil & Gas sectors
  • Knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) or ISA-95 standards
  • Proficy certification is a plus
  • Experience with scripting (Python, VBScript, ) for automation
  • Knowledge of cloud integration (Azure, AWS) and IIoT platforms
