Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), a subsidiary of PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG), is one of the largest combined natural gas and electric companies in the United States. Based in Oakland, our 25,000 employees work throughout our Northern and Central California service area, stretching from Eureka to Bakersfield and from the Pacific Ocean to the Sierra Nevada. We're ranked among the nation's cleanest utilities and we're driving change in the utility industry to support the transition to a cleaner energy economy.
The PG&E Innovation Accelerator leverages customer-centric start-up methodologies to ideate, incubate, and accelerate new internal initiatives to market that are optimized for impact. Amplify is an Innovation Accelerator venture in the accelerate stage, dedicated to helping customers go electric. We're creating a new kind of customer experience—building digital products, services, and partnerships that make the transition simpler, faster, and more affordable by reducing friction across vehicle selection, incentives, installation, and grid connection.
The Amplify venture lives within PG&E's Electrification and Decarbonization department, which exists to create an electrified California where customers choose efficient and decarbonized buildings and transportation.
Position Summary The Technology Lead will support Amplify's evolution from manual pilot to scaled platform by building automations that enable the team to operate efficiently today while collaborating with PG&E IT to implement the automated platform for tomorrow. In the near term, you'll rapidly prototype and implement automations using low-code and no-code tools to support the manual pilot program—a concierge-guided experience helping customers through EV selection, home assessment, and charger installation.
You'll build workflows, integrations, and AI-enhanced tools that allow the Amplify team to deliver personalized support at pilot scale. As the product demonstrates value and readiness to scale, you'll transition to working closely with PG&E IT and external development vendors as a technical advisor and bridge, helping translate product requirements and operational learnings into specifications for an automated customer-facing platform that can serve customers across PG&E's service area.
As part of the Amplify venture team, you'll work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment within PG&E, moving quickly from idea to implementation while building toward enterprise scale. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be the Oakland General Office. The role reports to the Amplify General Manager.
