The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

• Describe the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization’s raw data in order to create insightful and applicable business information.
• Begin to influence department’s strategy.
• Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
• Exercise considerable latitude in determining goals and approaches to assignments.

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis (SQL and large data sets) OR Master’s degree and 3 or more years of experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations.
• Experience analyzing data to solve several business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction.
• Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data.
• Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
• Advanced in SQL Query Development.
• Data Visualization experience (Power BI and/or Tableau).
• Advanced in Power BI report development (i.e., DAX, bookmarks, data modeling).
• Experience with Healthcare financial data.
• Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors.

Travel:
While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.

$89,000 – $121,400 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
