ResponsibilitiesThe Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately processing, entering, reviewing, and maintaining healthcare data used to support post-operative patient experience survey programs. This position works with high volumes of patient and client data while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and internal quality standards.
The role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies while meeting client and reporting deadlines.
- Process and manage large volumes of data using Microsoft Excel.
- Review, validate, and maintain data files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct audits of data processing activities to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines and internal quality standards.
- Train new employees on data processing procedures and best practices.
- Provide customer support by resolving data file issues and answering client inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with CMS regulations while processing and validating healthcare data.
- Perform quality assurance reviews to identify and correct data discrepancies.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and safeguard the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
- Collaborate with the team to meet CMS reporting deadlines and client requirements.
- Perform secure file uploads, downloads, and transmission validation to support client reporting.
- Utilize Win Zip to securely receive, extract, and manage encrypted data files.
- Monitor data integrity and resolve inconsistencies to improve overall data quality.
- Maintain detailed documentation of data processing activities and audit results.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in data management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large data files.
- Ability to process large volumes of information while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Experience reviewing and validating data for completeness and consistency.
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and confidential handling of PHI.
- Familiarity with healthcare data, CMS requirements, or patient experience surveys is preferred.
- Experience working with encrypted files, secure file transfers, and Win Zip.
