Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data/Platform Engineer to join a healthcare technology organization. The Senior Data/Platform Engineer will play a key role in rebuilding the company's data pipeline from the ground up, helping modernize the platform and establish a scalable foundation for future growth.
Responsibilities of the Senior Data/Platform Engineer:- Rebuild and modernize a legacy data pipeline, creating scalable and reliable ingestion, processing, and storage solutions.
- Design and develop integrations for APIs, vendor file feeds, Big Query, and other external data sources.
- Build event-driven services and ETL processes using Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
- Develop and manage AWS infrastructure utilizing Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization best practices.
- Establish observability, monitoring, lineage tracking, and operational standards for production data systems.
- Lead data migration, reconciliation, backfill, and cutover efforts while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- 7+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale data platforms, backend systems, or data engineering environments.
- Proven experience re-architecting, modernizing, or rebuilding data pipelines, data platforms, or infrastructure from the ground up.
- Strong experience with Python, Node.js, Go, Type Script, or similar backend development technologies.
- Deep knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, event-driven architectures, and system integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies.
- Advanced SQL and data warehousing expertise with Redshift, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- Salary range: $180,000 - $220,000 (Depending on Experience)
- Opportunity to convert to a full-time employee following the initial contract engagement
