Remote (U.S.) with approximately 60% travel to customer sites in Montgomery, AL and Oklahoma City, OK Salary: $145,600 - $165,400

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior NSX Engineer / NSX Architect to support the design, implementation, migration, and optimization of large-scale VMware NSX environments within complex cloud and multi-tenant infrastructures. This role will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for architecting and deploying advanced NSX solutions while supporting infrastructure modernization efforts as organizations transition from traditional data center environments into cloud-based architectures.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in VMware NSX-T, cloud networking, network virtualization, and automation, with proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale, multi-site deployments. This position will play a key role in infrastructure migration initiatives, helping establish and optimize NSX-based networking and security services across multiple locations.

• Design, build, and implement complex VMware NSX-T environments supporting cloud-based and multi-tenant architectures.
• Lead NSX architecture and engineering efforts for enterprise modernization and migration projects.
• Develop and deploy advanced network virtualization solutions including:
  Micro-segmentation Distributed firewalling NSX gateways VPN services Load balancing Software-defined networking (SDN)
• Support migration of legacy data center environments into cloud-enabled VMware infrastructures.
• Design and implement multi-site NSX deployments, federation, and hybrid cloud networking solutions.
• Integrate NSX with VMware products and third-party tools, including automation, monitoring, security, and orchestration platforms.
• Develop automation solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking, security, and virtualization issues across NSX environments.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance during infrastructure deployments and migration activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams responsible for compute, storage, security, and cloud operations to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Perform architecture reviews, technical assessments, and design validation activities.

• Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
• 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise VMware environments.
• Expert-level experience with VMware NSX-T Data Center.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex NSX architectures in cloud and multi-tenant environments.
• Strong understanding of NSX management, control, and data plane architecture.
• Experience deploying and managing:
  Network segmentation Micro-segmentation Distributed firewall policies NSX Edge Gateways Advanced Load Balancing VPN technologies
• Expertise integrating NSX with VMware ecosystem solutions and third-party technologies.
• Advanced troubleshooting and operational support experience within enterprise NSX environments.
• Experience migrating traditional data center networking architectures into cloud-based infrastructures.
• Strong automation skills utilizing infrastructure-as-code and orchestration frameworks.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing consulting skills.
