What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Cyber Intel Analyst to join an innovative and detail-oriented team. Our team works on a variety of projects and tasks associated with protecting national security by enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.
This role leverages integrated technical judgment and intelligence analysis to address complex challenges supporting Sandia National Laboratories
¿ missions. It requires a strong foundation in science and engineering, combined with critical thinking, to support development of innovative cyber designs and solutions through physical and computational methods.
The position focuses on the security and resilience of cyber-physical systems by analyzing threats, vulnerabilities, and system interactions to anticipate and mitigate risks. Key responsibilities include defining problem scopes, negotiating requirements with stakeholders, and developing effective technical solutions in complex, multi-domain environments.
On any given day, you may be called on to support IT or OT cyber technology needs:
Conduct intelligence analysis to identify and assess threats, vulnerabilities, and risks impacting cyber-physical systems.
Apply integrated technical judgment and critical thinking to formulate and refine problem statements related to national security challenges.
Analyze complex multi-domain data sets to understand system interactions and inform risk mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define problem scope, gather requirements, and negotiate technical objectives.
Synthesize findings from scientific research, intelligence inputs, and engineering analyses to support decision-making.
Communicate technical results, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences, including technical teams and decision makers.
Integrate multidisciplinary approaches and coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive system solutions.
Monitor emerging threats and technological developments relevant to cyber-physical security to inform ongoing research and development efforts.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:
$117,500 - $235,700
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
Active DOE Q and SCI clearance is required to start (or equivalent DOD Top Secret/SCI).
Qualifications We Desire:
The ideal R&D Systems Research and Analysis candidate for Sandia National Laboratories will in addition possess the following:
Graduate degree in a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation).
The ability to understand, synthesize, and draw insights from multiple types of data streams (e.g., technical, economic, policy) through the use of various analytical tools.
Experience working as part of multi-disciplinary teams examining complex systems.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of good project management, especially as it pertains to the execution of federally-funded work (e.g., proposal development through annal review, final delivery, and closeout).
