AWS Postgres DBA
Position:
Contract
Interview Process:
Video, 2 rounds, 1 round will be highly technical
Summary of the project/initiative: AWS postgres performance analysis. Upgrading Postgres 11 to 14 and the impacts of that change.
Describe the team:
Team of 4-6 technical leads, architects, and devops
Break-down of the team: 1 PO, 2 Arch, 2 Tech Leads, 2 Dev Ops
Top 5-10 responsibilities:
- Performance Analysis of our current instances (10 OLTP instances/Microservices Architecture)
- Database Monitoring of Cluster
- Scalability
- Understanding Load, understanding impact of growth
- Replication (Surest is using Debezium for CDC)
- Query Tuning
- Identify High volume SQL, Identify high impact SQL, Indexing
Ideal candidate background:
Experienced with AWS Aurora Postgres database administration. Experience tuning SQL queries. Experience with Hibernate query patterns.
Skills/attributes required: 5 years AWS Aurora Postgres DBA. 5 years SQL tuning. Experience with AWS replication.
Skills/attributes preferred:
Use of Debezium for CDC.
