Position: SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR 3 with Security Clearance
Systems Administrator 3 Newport News, VA 12-month contract. Pay: $46.00-$58.00/HR BOE. US Citizen and active secret clearance. SORRY, NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY RESUMES. Description Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience. Master's Degree and 4 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Special Requirements :

- Infrastructure Maintenance:
Manage and maintain the VMware HPE Simpli Vity hyperconverged infrastructure, performing routine tasks to ensure optimal performance and high availability.

- Linux Systems Operations:
Configure, monitor, and actively troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers and environments. Serve as an escalation point for complex RHEL operational issues.

- Virtualization Support:
Administer and maintain virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere and HPE Simpli Vity platforms.

- Solaris Administration:
Provide administration and support for Solaris operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Top 3 Skill Sets:

- UNIX/Linux/Solaris expertise in an enterprise environment
- Server virtualization and automation expertise in an enterprise environment
- Security & Patching:
Conduct regular patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation across unix/Linux/Solaris environments following established security protocols.
• This is a hybrid-remote position. We expect this position to be onsite two to three days per week.
