Systems Engineer

Plan A Technologies is looking for an expert
Systems Engineer to join our Delivery Services team and travel across the US (and selectively worldwide) as a hands‑on systems integrator for our proprietary platforms at client sites.

In this role, you will leverage a broad technical skill set to deploy and integrate Windows Servers, SQL Servers, VMware, and networking configurations within shared storage environments. If you thrive on managing diverse technologies, traveling frequently, and moving dynamically from project to project, our integration team wants you on board.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years as a Systems Engineer and ability to travel to be considered for this role.

• System Deployments & Upgrades:
  Execute domestic system installations and upgrades across a portfolio of 20+ proprietary gaming applications.
• Infrastructure & Virtualization Support:
  
  Leverage modern tools to deploy and support operating systems, relational databases, network infrastructures, and virtualized environments during installations and upgrades.
• Technical Troubleshooting:
  
  Apply advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex integration, upgrade, and installation challenges to deliver 100% client satisfaction.
• Project Ownership & Leadership Growth:
  
  Execute assigned tasks as a Support Systems Engineer (SE) with the opportunity to step up into Lead SE roles - coordinating and managing all technical SE tasks for specific client projects.
• Continuous Professional Development:
  
  Collaborate with engineering management to create and execute individualized development plans aligned with your technical career interests.

• Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience with systems installation / maintenance / upgrades / network security / network technologies
• Strong experience with SQL deployment and administration
• Ability to travel on average 50% but up to 70% (frequent and extended for 2-3 weeks at a time)

• Establishes strong working relationships across internal cross-functional engineering teams and external customer stakeholders.
• Quickly identifies root causes during complex deployment issues and takes decisive action to resolve them.

• Commits to ongoing self-development, continuous technical learning, and fostering innovation within integration practices.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

• Operating Systems & Containerization:
  Experience installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments, Enterprise Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Database & Querying:
  Hands-on experience with SQL Server administration and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
• Virtualization & Storage:
  Expertise with virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V) and Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration and administration.
• Networking & Hardware:
  Enterprise network hardware configuration (Cisco, Brocade, Dell, HP, Juniper, Sonic Wall), physical and virtual load balancing (F5, HAProxy, A10) and end-to-end hardware/software setup and network design execution.
• Certifications & Clearance:
  Relevant Microsoft, VMware, Networking, or SAN certifications; ability to pass security investigation requirements.
