Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and resilient cloud‑based solutions. As a senior member of our technical team, you will lead the architecture and deployment of complex AWS environments while ensuring alignment with federal security standards.
Key Responsibilities- Cloud Architecture & Engineering:
Lead the design and deployment of robust AWS infrastructure, focusing on high availability, fault tolerance, and cost optimization. - Automation & Dev Ops:
Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates using Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible to ensure consistent environment provisioning. - Security & Compliance:
Implement and manage security controls in alignment with NIST SP 800‑53 and CMMC requirements. Experience with AWS Security Hub, Guard Duty, and KMS is essential. - Operations & Monitoring:
Oversee system performance using Cloud Watch, Sentinel, or similar enterprise monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks. - Cross‑Platform Integration:
Support hybrid‑cloud initiatives and cross‑platform workflows, particularly where AWS services interface with Microsoft 365, Azure, or GCP. - Technical Leadership:
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and serve as a technical liaison between stakeholders and development teams.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent 10+ years of professional experience). - Experience:
7+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud engineering, with a primary focus on AWS. - Certifications (Mandatory):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate
- AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer – Professional
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform.
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Multi‑Cloud
Experience:
Working knowledge or certifications in Microsoft Azure (e.g., AZ‑500) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Security Frameworks:
Familiarity with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) or RMF processes. - Containerization:
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), or ECS. - Knowledge of:
- NIST 800‑53 / 800‑171
- FedRAMP / CMMC
- Familiarity with:
- AWS Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, Config, Security Hub
- Azure Defender / Security Center
- GCP Security Command Center
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (High Risk) clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to federal contract requirements.
This is a hybrid role. Candidates are expected to work from our local office 3 days per week, with the remainder of the week available for remote work. This balance allows for high‑level collaboration on architecture sessions while providing flexibility for deep‑focus engineering tasks.
