Service Now Architect

Location: Fully Remote

Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance Required



Job Summary

Improvix Technologies is seeking an experienced and skilled Service Now Architect to support the Department of State's (DOS). This fully remote position requires a candidate with expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing Service Now solutions to support the division's IT modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Service Now architecture, integration, and custom development, along with a strong background in leveraging Service Now to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and improve service delivery.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize Service Now solutions to meet the Department of State’s business needs.
  • Lead the end-to-end architecture of Service Now implementations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Provide expertise in customizing Service Now applications and modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and Security Operations.
  • Integrate Service Now with external systems and third-party tools, ensuring seamless data flow and robust security.
  • Develop and implement strategies for data migration, workflow automation, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure that Service Now solutions meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Lead code reviews, quality assurance testing, and deployment planning for Service Now updates and new features.
  • Serve as a technical lead and mentor for other developers, guiding the team in Service Now development and best practices.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation for system designs, configurations, and integration processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Service Now functionality and performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with Service Now updates and new features, and continuously recommend improvements to the system.
  • Work closely with the DOS ADD team to ensure that solutions align with strategic goals and IT modernization initiatives.
Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Service Now Architect or similar role.
    • Proven experience with Service Now implementations, including modules like ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and Security Operations.
    • Expertise in Service Now integrations with external systems and third-party applications.
    • Strong understanding of Service Now data models, workflows, and scripting (JavaScript, REST APIs).
    • Experience with Service Now upgrades, custom development, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical

    Skills:
    • Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA).
    • Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) or similar certifications preferred.
    • Familiarity with Service Now's ITOM capabilities, Service Catalog, and Reporting.
    • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and web technologies for custom development within Service Now.
    • Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and Dev Ops tools (Jira, Jenkins, Git Hub) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of data security practices and integration security protocols.
  • Clearance:
    • Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Experience with Agile and Dev Ops methodologies.
