Location: Bethesda, MD - 100% onsite (possibility of one day remote).
Job DescriptionLooking for our next TS/SCI-cleared Dev Ops Software Engineer to join a high-energy team building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack in support of the DIA-NMEC (National Media Exploitation Center) DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP).
This role is part of a 10-year program supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization effort, where you'll contribute to mission-critical capabilities alongside a collaborative, innovative, and growth-oriented team.
While the majority of work is performed on-site at our customer location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and occasional opportunities for remote work.
What You'll Do- As a Dev Ops Software Engineer, you'll help design, deploy, and maintain a full-stack, containerized microservices architecture. You'll also support systems administration, installation, configuration, and the broader adoption of Dev Ops best practices across cross-functional engineering teams.
- In this fast-paced environment, you'll collaborate closely with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams.
- You will work with a multidisciplinary group of developers, integrators, and system administrators to:
- Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.
- Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.
- Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
- Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.
You're enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Strong Linux proficiency.
- Hands‑on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration and Git Lab.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.
- Experience operating systems at scale.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Development experience (Bash, Power Shell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.).
- Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
- Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).
- Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- GPU-based Kubernetes.
- SALT for deployment automation.
- Helm / Helmfile.
- Nexus.
- TS SCI - must be willing to get a CI (not required to start).
